Hey everyone!  I have been reading my guestbook and it seems that some people still think I'm in New York.  Just so you know, I left New York on Wednesday.  So we were only there for one night.  Since I didn't get surgery and had to start a different type of chemo, the doctor said it would probably be best to get the chemo in Philly since it is closer to our house.

        So the next day we came up to Philly thinking we would only have to stay an hour for the chemo.  However, when they checked my blood, my hemoglobin was lower  than it should be.  So, I had to get my first blood transfusion.  That took three hours.  My mom, Rodney, Haley , and I were there all day!  When I finally got home I wasn't feeling to good.  My cousin Stephen was at my house when I got there but left shortly after I arrived.  My grandpa Burt came over a little while after I got there and planned on staying the night.  Right before I went to bed I took my temp. and it was high.  My dad and I headed up to CHOP.

        We got here at about 2:00 a.m.  That's were I am right now.  Today the hospital had an Eagles pep rally in the lobby that my dad and I went to.  My mom, Rodney, and Haley  came up to visit later in the day also.  One of my doctors , Dr. Adamson, said that I will probably be able to leave tomorrow.  Tomorrow I have some people coming to visit me, so that's exciting!

        I would like to give a shout out  to Absecon Public Schools and Holy Spirit High School for having hat day   and dress down day  and donating the money to The Shelby Richter Fund.  That REALLY means a lot to me!!  I would also like to give a special thanks to Laura Hilbert  and Nick Mancinelli  for putting that all together and for having such great ideas.  And I LOVE the shirts!!  They are awesome!!

        Well, I'm gonna get goin' now, my dad and I are going to go watch Viva La Bam!!  Bye!

Shelby, i was told of your story by Claire Rothstein, who is my aunt.
I have had cancer touch me twice in my 44 years, i had it when i was 5 months old,and again when i was 42, i have had surgery, treatments , etc... I know it's no fun, But you take it ONE DAY at a time, the constant tests, treatments, examinations are a pain, but you will do everyone of them because these are the steps you must do to get well.
My wife & 2 little girls will add you to our prayer list. God Bless.

You dont know me. I'm a friend of Breanna Eads and her family.She has told me all about you and what your going threw. My moms a nurse and she deals with people like you and other sick people. I'm sorry theres no cure for cancer, but if i had i i would surely give it to you in a heart beat, even if i dont really know you. It stinks you have cancer, but dont let it get to you, live your life as if you didnt have it. This might not sound as harsh as what your going threw but i have been to the hospital alot too. I have got over 259 stiches in my life, and just yesterday i had o get bllod work done. There are lots of people that care about you and want you to be happy. So dont let this ruin your life. i will pray for you every nignt...and i hope you get better! :)o:):)

i read through this whole website, and i am inspired by shelby's postitive attitude. although i did not personally know her, i sympathize with the richter family and everyone who had the chance to be a part of shelby's life. i know cancer all too well from friends and family members that were affected by it. i hope that you all remember shelby with fond memories and carry out your lives with the same bravery and courage she showed each day. <3
